"Playing hymns on a limited stoplist" and
"Teaching hymns to a congregation"

First Presbyterian Church, Havana
This twofold program addresses some practical issues facing all organists. The first, "Playing hymns on a limited stoplist," will explore the possibilities and restrictions of playing on an organ of under 10 stops. The second, "Teaching hymns to a congregation," will focus on methods of actively and directly teaching your congregation to sing new hymns in order to improve congregational singing.

Monthly Meeting

Dr. Michael Corzine will give a presentation on his time working with the Fisk Organ Company in Gloucester, Massachusetts. He will talk about the work he did and also demonstrate some techniques on the Fisk Organ in the sanctuary.

Guest Performance
The American Boy Choir

The world renowned American Boy Choir will perform Saturday, February 9th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Anglican Church in Tallahassee. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased through the church office by calling (850)701-0664. FPC Arts Concert

The second season of the FPC Arts series continues in February with a concert by guitarist Zachary Johnson and organist Jonathan Hehn. The program will feature solo works for organ and guitar as well as collaborative works. Admission is free, and as always cheesecake and other light refreshments will be served after the concert.

AGO Members' Recital
Bach Birthday Bash (323 Years!)

In honor the the International Year of the Organ, we are honoring the archetype organist, Johann Sebastian Bach. Members will play a program of works by "Bach and friends." If you wish to play, please contact Will Scarboro by Tuesday, February 12. If not, bring your family and friends to hear some fantastic music!

End of the Year Banquet

We gather one last time for the end of the year banquet and election of officers. As a reminder, the member who has brought the most guests throughout the course of the year as recorded by the chapter secretary will receive one free year of AGO membership. However, you must be present at the banquet to receive this award!
